Oskanian: Only after determining status of Karabakh we will discuss any issues concerning Karabakh process

PanARMENIAN.Net - "For Armenia the main thing is the status of Nagorno Karabakh, it is not worth of speaking about other things without solving that issue," Armenian Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian stated in Yerevan to a joint press conference with OSCE Chairman-in-Office Miguel Angel Moratinos. The Armenian FM reminded that the Nagorno Karabakh conflict broke out exactly from that very fact that Azeri authorities turned down the people of Nagorno Karabakh the right to self-determination. "All following events -the blockade, war perpetrated by Azerbaijan turned the conflict into an intractable problem. I repeat once again, only after determining status of Nagorno Karabakh we will discuss any issues concerning the Karabakh process," the Armenian Foreign Minister underscored.

In his part the OSCE Chairman-in-Office underlined that the two sides adhere to political resolution of the conflict. "We believe and hope in political compromise. It is very difficult to solve any conflicts, including the Karabakh conflict," Moratinos said, bringing as an example the unsettled problem of South Ossetia.
