“Kung Fu Panda” director to helm Warner Bros.’ animated “Bone”November 17, 2016 - 10:55 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - “Kung Fu Panda” director Mark Osborne will helm and exec produce Warner Bros.’ animated “Bone”, which the studio is planning as a trilogy, Variety reports. Adam Kline will co-write the script with Osborne. Dan Lin’s Lin Pictures is producing with Animal Logic’s Zareh Nalbandian, re-teaming after producing “The Lego Movie.” The Lego franchise has three more movies in the works, starting with “Lego Batman” in February. The comic, written by Jeff Smith and first published in 1991, focused on three Bone cousins who are lost in a vast desert until they wind up in a forested valley with an array of strange creatures. Scholastic popularized the comics in recent years by releasing “Bone” in the graphic novel form. Lin Pictures’ Mark Bauch will exec produce with Osborne. His most recent directing gig was for “The Little Prince,” released this summer by Netflix. Osborne received an Oscar nomination for his 1999 animated short, “More,” and for 2008’s “Kung Fu Panda,” which he co-directed with John Stevenson. Warner-based Lin also produced the Sherlock Holmes movies for Warner Bros.
