Armenia progressing within European Neighborhood Policy

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia fixed considerable progress during the May 12 parliamentary elections and in strengthening of institutes of democratic society, EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus Peter Semneby told a news conference in Yerevan.



The EU evaluated highly the parliamentary elections and is hopeful that the presidential election in 2008 will be a regular advance towards international standards, he said.



«This is my first visit to Armenia after the elections. I have met the Foreign Minister, Prime Minister, NA Speaker and representative of parliamentary opposition, Artur Baghdassaryan. During all these meetings Armenia's progress within the European Neighborhood Policy was noted,» Mr Semneby said.
