Armenia Ombudsman talks Baku violence at OMCT meeting

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian human rights defender Arman Tatoyan on Monday, November 21 met with the chief of the World Organization Against Torture (OMCT),Gerald Staberock, to discuss the violence unleashed by Azerbaijan against Nagorno Karabakh in early April.

Baku on April 2 launched an overt military offensive against Karabakh, during which hundreds were killed and wounded on both sides. The parties reached an agreement on the cessation of hostilities on April 5.

Also, they discussed joint projects and cooperation between the two bodies, as well as the practical implementation of proposals brought forward by relevant international organizations.

In addition, Tatoyan met with the Chief of Operations at the Association for the Prevention of Torture Barbara Bernath to address the expansion of capabilities and the office of the human rights defender.
