PSRC cuts natural gas prices for Armenia consumers

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) of Armenia on Thursday, November 25 set lower prices for natural gas.

The new tariffs will come into effect starting from January, 2017.

For ordinary subscribers, who consume up to 10,000 cub.m. of gas per month, the PSRC set the tariff at AMD139 (approx. $0,29) per cub.m., instead of the current AMD146,7 ($0,30), and for the underprivileged layers of the population – at AMD100 ($0,20).

Earlier, PSRC chief Robert Nazaryan said Russia's Gazprom - the owner of Armenia’s national gas distributing company Gazprom Armenia- will bear all the risks stemming from the reduction of gas tariff.

Also, Nazaryan said, the PSRC has started a revision of electricity tariffs for consumers, looking to decrease the price.
