Raúl Castillo joins Jennifer Jason Leigh in Netflix’s “Atypical”December 6, 2016 - 12:12 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - “Looking” star Raúl Castillo has joined the cast of Netflix’s “Atypical”, Variety has learned exclusively. “Atypical” is a dark comedy centering an 18-year-old son (Keir Gilchrist) on the autism spectrum and his family: mother (Jennifer Jason Leigh, also a producer on the series), father (Michael Rapaport), and sister (Brigette Lundy-Paine). Castillo will recur in a long arc on the series as Nick, a handsome, free-spirited bartender who meets Leigh’s Elsa. “How I Met Your Mother” alum Robia Rashid created the family comedy, which was given a straight-to-series order at the streaming giant in October. Rashid will pen the series and serve as an executive producer with Mary Rohlich and Seth Gordon, who is set to direct the pilot. Castillo’s dance card is a little full of late: In addition to “Atypical,” he’ll also appear alongside Regina King in Netflix’s “Seven Seconds” (helmed by Veena Sud), is filming a recurring role on The CW’s “Archie” adaptation “Riverdale,” and is in production on the feature adaptation of Justin Torres novel “We the Animals.” Castillo, best known as the singularly charming Richie on “Looking,” also recently appeared in Joe Swanberg’s Netflix series “Easy.” Top stories Ara Aivazian said Azerbaijan continues the traditions of Turkey after seizing territories and forced Armenians out.
