Punk poet Patti Smith to attend Nobel Prize ceremony instead of Bob DylanDecember 7, 2016 - 14:47 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Patti Smith is to attend the Nobel Prize ceremony in place of Bob Dylan, NME said. Dylan was announced as the recipient of the Nobel Prize for Literature in October, but appeared to be unwilling to publicly acknowledge the prize for over two weeks. He deleted a mention of the prize on his website, but later told the Telegraph it was “an amazing [and] incredible” honour and he would attend the ceremony “if at all possible”. However, he has since confirmed he won’t able to attend due to other commitments. The event, which takes place on December 10, will instead feature a performance from punk poet Smith instead, as Billboard reports. Smith will play Dylan’s classic song ‘A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall’ as a tribute to the 75-year-old musician. Patti Smith is to attend the Nobel Prize ceremony in place of Bob Dylan.
