LeVision Entertainment developing alien-abduction movie “Harvest”December 17, 2016 - 12:55 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - LeVision Entertainment is developing the alien-abduction movie “Harvest” after pre-emptively acquiring worldwide rights to Peter Gaffney’s script, Variety said. LeVision said the spec is in the vein of 2008’s “Cloverfield” and Ridley Scott’s 1986 sequel “Aliens.” Adam Rodin is attached to the project as a producer. Gaffney’s latest project “Terrestrial” is set up at Lionsgate, with Tripp Vinson and Rodin signed on as producers. LeVision Entertainment is led by founder Adam Goodman, former President of the Paramount Pictures’ Motion Pictures Group and President of Production at DreamWorks. He was named to the LeVision Entertainment post in September when his Dichotomy Creative Group was acquired by China technology company LeEco for an undisclosed price. With Goodman installed, LeVision Entertainment is touting itself as disrupting traditional production, financing feature-length projects across all genres, and distributing on a wide range of platforms. China-based LeVision Pictures, a subsidiary of LeEco, produced the box office hit “Tiny Times,” “Boonie Bears,” “The Expendables” and the upcoming “The Great Wall,” starring Matt Damon and Andy Lau and directed by Zhang Yimou. “The Great Wall” was produced with Thomas Tull’s Legendary Entertainment and is the largest U.S.-China co-production to date. The historical action epic has opened in China with a $23 million first day. China-based LeVision Pictures has already seen its 10th film of 2016 cross 100 million renminbi mark ($14 million) with “Suddenly Seventeen.” That’s a first for a Chinese distributor.
