Nazarbayev says Kazakhstan ready to host Syria talks![]() December 26, 2016 - 16:30 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said on Monday, December 26 he was ready to host multilateral talks on the conflict in Syria in the Kazakh capital of Astana, Reuters reports. "Kazakhstan is ready to host all sides for talks in Astana," Nazarbayev said during a visit to St. Petersburg where he has been meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Putin said on Friday that Russia, Iran, Turkey and Syrian President Bashar al-Assad had all agreed the Kazakh capital should be the venue for new Syrian peace negotiations. Putin also said last week the next step for Syria would be a nationwide ceasefire. Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Moscow on April 22 to hold talks with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. Authorities said a total of 192 Azerbaijani troops were killed and 511 were wounded during Azerbaijan’s offensive. Partner news |
