Semneby going to visit Karabakh in September

PanARMENIAN.Net - "I am planning to visit Nagorno Karabakh in September," EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus, Mr Peter Semneby said Saturday in Baku. He said he discussed the ways of settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict and wondered at the absence of progress after the Saint Petersburg presidential meeting.

"The European Union will seek for ways of improving relations between the two states, as it is mentioned in the Action Plans. But it doesn't mean that the EU attempts to compete with the OSCE Minsk Group and has an intention to replace it. We wish we could promote efforts of the MG," Mr Semneby said.

He appreciated the recent mutual visit of the Armenian and Azeri intellectuals. All should be done to build trust between the sides and media plays an important role in it, he added, Day.az reports.
