"The X-Files" sci-fi series new season to be announced soonJanuary 13, 2017 - 11:20 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - "The X-Files" fans can look forward to good news about another season of the sci-fi series very soon, AceShowbiz said. FOX president David Madden told reporters at the TCA winter press tour on Wednesday, January 11 that they're nearing a deal for more episodes of the drama that was revived with a tenth season last year. "We hope so," said Madden. "A lot of conversations going on, these conversations are complex, but we hope to be able to announce something about that shortly." It appears that they're still trying to adjust the production dates with the schedules of stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson. If everything goes according to the plans, we will get more than the shortened, six-episode season that was released last year. "It won't be 22, but we are hoping for more than six. That's our goal," Madden said of the episode count, adding, "I think the ideal is to get it ready for '18. Whether or not it would be January." Following the revival finale's cliffhanger, Madden also hope for a possible new season as he said in August at the TCA summer press tour, "We would obviously love to do another season. There are significant talks going on. Schedules are hard. We're working hard to get this done and we'd love to get another season out now."
