Armenia resident population down by 0.4% in 2016![]() January 31, 2017 - 17:12 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - As of January 1, the estimated resident population of Armenia amounted to 2,986,500 people, down by 12,100 or 0.4% against the figures registered exactly a year ago. 2,998,600 people lived in Armenia at the beginning of 2016, which was, in turn, less by 12,000 compared with the same period a year before. 1,901,700 people currently dwell in cities, while the remaining 1,084,800 are based in rural communities, the National Statistical Service revealed. ![]() ![]() As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed.
