He gave a high estimation to the assistance rendered by the NATO member states and welcomed the appointment of new NATO South Caucasus Liaison Officer. The interlocutors referred to organization of Armenia-NATO political consultations in "26+1" format and Armenia's participation in NATO events. The NATO Secretary General assessed the organization's cooperation with the South Caucasian states on the threshold of NATO summit scheduled for April 2008 in Bucharest. Exchange of views on the Kosovo issue, situation in Afghanistan and some regional developments was followed by a discussion of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
