Armenia appoints new ambassador to RussiaMarch 10, 2017 - 13:23 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - President Serzh Sargsyan on Friday, March 10 signed a decree, relieving Oleg Yesayan from his duties as Armenia's ambassador to Russia. Yesayan had been ambassador to Russia since presenting his credentials to President Dmitry Medvedev on February 5, 2010. He has previously served as prime minister of Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh), speaker of Artsakh National Assembly, chairman of the Securities Commission of Armenia and ambassador to Belarus. With another decree, Sargsyan appointed Vardan Toghanyan to the post. A former history teacher, Toghanyan currently heads the Board of Directors at Eurasian Media Group.
