Russian President signs edict on CSTO peacekeeping activityOctober 22, 2007 - 19:04 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Russian President Vladimir Putin signed an edict "On signature of agreement on peacekeeping activity of the Collective Security Treaty Organization."The President has appointed RF Deputy Defense Minister Nikolay Pankov his official representative in the Federation Council, the Kremlin's press office reported. The CSTO member states have already filed a package of documents on formation of joint peacekeeping forces. CSTO Secretary General Nikolay Bordyuzha said the forces will perform peacekeeping missions within the territory of the CSTO member states and beyond their borders. "Each CSTO member state will form its own peacekeeping contingent for participation in CSTO operations," he said.
