PM Karapetyan instructs minister to work up unified transport network

PanARMENIAN.Net - Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan on Thursday, April 20 issued several instructions on road construction and a unified transport network in Armenia.

Addressing ministers at a cabinet session, Karapetyan assigned the minister of transport, communication and information technologies, Vahan Martirosyan, to assess the technical condition of roads and highways of national and regional importance.

Also, Karapetyan said, the minister must provide a financial assessment, develop a five-year working plan on priorities and submit proposals to the government.

The prime minister instructed provincial governors to provide comprehensive information as well as timetable of passenger flows from all the communities of the country to regional centers and major cities.

Besides, Martirosyan is expected to prepare and submit to the government a technical proposal on a unified transport network.

Karapetyan said earlier that a unified ticketing system will be introduced in Yerevan, the Armenian capital.
