At today's meeting with Armenian foreign minister Vardan Oskanian in Yerevan Gil-Robles noted the progress registered in Armenia in the human rights sphere, as well as in fulfilling the commitments to the Council of Europe. In the course of the meeting the parties addressed the urgent problems of the South Caucasus, in particular, the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement, exacerbation of the Russian-Georgian relations and its possible impact on the security and stability in the region as a whole.Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
