Azerbaijan escalates situation along contact line with Karabakh![]() May 8, 2017 - 13:08 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Tensions increased along the contact line between Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh) and Azerbaijan on May 6, May 7 and the night through May 8. Around 160 ceasefire violations by Azerbaijan were registered in the reporting period, with more than 2600 shots fired from various caliber firearms. Also, Azeri forces employed a 60-mm mortar and a grenade launcher in the eastern direction of the frontline. Artsakh defense army troops continue controlling the situation along the line of contact and protecting their positions. The situation is relatively calm at the moment.
