Magnitude 4.8 earthquake hits Azerbaijan

PanARMENIAN.Net - A magnitude 4.8 earthquake was registered 23 km north-west of the Azerbaijani city of Shirvan on Thursday, May 11, at 7:23am local time (0323 GMT).

The earthquake was about 10 kilometers deep, followed by several aftershocks.

According to the USGS, another earthquake was registered in Azerbaijan several hours earlier.
