Trump, first lady listen to Armenian chants at Jerusalem church

PanARMENIAN.Net - U.S. President Donald Trump and his wife, Melania, visited the church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem's Old City during a state visit to Israel on Monday, May 22.

The church, one of the most visited sites in the country, is believed to be the place where Jesus Christ was buried before resurrecting.

The president and the first lady met with the Armenian, Greek Orthodox and Catholic spiritual leaders.

While visiting the Armenian section of the church, Trump and the first lady listened to Armenian chants, with the Armenian leader telling the guests about the Armenian Church and the ages-old culture afterwards.

Trump became the first sitting American president to ever visit the Old City of Jerusalem. Trump’s visit to the Holy Sepulchre preceded his visit the Western Wall, one of Judaism’s holiest sites.
