Sofia Coppola's Cannes winner “The Beguiled” to close Moscow Film Fest![]() June 14, 2017 - 16:19 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Sofia Coppola’s Cannes competition entry The Beguiled will screen as the closing night film at the Moscow Film Festival on June 29, The Hollywood Reporter reveals. Set at a girls' school in Virginia during the U.S. Civil War and starring Nicole Kidman, Kirsten Dunst, Colin Farrell and Elle Fanning, the film won Coppola the best director's award at the Cannes film festival last month, making her only the second woman to win that honor. The only other woman to get the Cannes director award is Russian filmmaker Yulia Solntseva, who collected the award for her WWII drama Povest plamennykh let (The Chronicle of Flaming Years) back in 1961 when the Soviet Union still existed. A representative for the Moscow festival told The Hollywood Reporter that it is not yet clear if Coppola and the film's stars will attend the screening. The festival will run June 22-June 29. It will open with Baahubali 2: The Conclusion by Indian director S.S. Rajamouli. Ara Aivazian said Azerbaijan continues the traditions of Turkey after seizing territories and forced Armenians out.
