OSCE proposes Armenia-Azerbaijan presidential meeting on KarabakhJuly 12, 2017 - 12:39 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group on Tuesday, July 11 proposed to organize a meeting of Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents to discuss the conflict in Nagorno Karabakh, the co-chairs said in a statement on Wednesday. Igor Popov of Russia, Stephane Visconti of France, and Richard Hoagland of the United States, as well as Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk were meeting Armenian foreign minister Edward Nalbandian and Azerbaijan's FM Elmar Mammadyarov. The sides, according to the statement, discussed modalities of further work on the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. The ministers agreed to pass to their presidents the co-chairs’ proposal for a high-level meeting later this year. The co-chairs offered their assistance in organizing this meeting, the statement said. The current situation on the line of contact was also discussed, the statement added. The ministers and the co-chairs agreed to meet again in New York in September on the margins of the 72nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly. Earlier, Nalbandian stressed the importance of stabilizing the situation on the Karabakh contact line and implementing agreements reached at summits in Vienna and Saint Petersburg.
