Armenia-U.S. cooperation developed in 2007

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia continued efficient cooperation with the United States in 2007, the RA Foreign Minister said it its annual report. "Due to congressional discrepancies, Washington did not succeed in sending a new Ambassador to Armenia. During this period Anthony Godfrey, Rudolph Perina and Joseph Pennington replaced each other at the post of Charge d'Affaires," the document says.



"In 2007 the U.S. assistance totaled $75 million to Armenia and $3 million to Karabakh. Besides, military aid parity to Armenia and Azerbaijan was also preserved.



"Armenia received $11 million within the Millennium Challenge Account. The funds will be spent on road repair, improvement of the irrigation infrastructure and development of agricultural business," it says.
