The Red Devils signed Lukaku in a £75m deal from Everton in July after Manchester United managed to hijack Chelsea’s deal to sign the Belgium international. Armenia international Henrikh Mkhitaryan has made a positive start to the Premier League campaign following five assists in three top-flight outings. The former Borussia Dortmund midfielder has already surpassed his 2016-17 tally for assists following a tough debut campaign at Old Trafford. Ex Arsenal midfielder Merson hailed Lukaku as the signing of the summer for his goals and his ability to get the best out of Manchester United’s talented midfielder. “The best signing of the summer? I’ve got to go with Romelu Lukaku,” Merson told Sky Sports News on Friday morning. “I know he’s cost the most money but he’s the one who’s made Man United a much better team.
