U.S: Karabakh status should be determined via international talks

PanARMENIAN.Net - After unilateral proclamation of Kosovo independence that was recognized by over 20 states pushed Washington to speak out about Nagorno Karabakh's status.

"The future status of Nagorno Karabakh should be determined via international talks," said a press release of the U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan.

"The U.S. recognized independence of Kosovo. However, the situation in the province is unique and can't set a precedent for other regions, including Nagorno Karabakh. The U.S. calls on the international community to refrain from any public statements that can affect the Karabakh peaceful talks," the statement says.

"Any attempt to resolve the conflict by use of force will jeopardize peace and stability in the Caucasus," it says, Trend reports.
