Armenian community puts up Christmas tree in Aleppo

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Syrian-Armenian community has decorated a Christmas tree at the al-Aziziyeh Square inAleppo, 1 year after the city was liberated from militants, several Twitter users said.

According to a small poster attached to the tree, members of the pan-Armenian sports and Scouting organization Homenmen contributed to putting up the fir.

A marching band played tunes for the large crowd which had gathered to celebrate the 1st anniversary of the liberation of Syria's second largest city.

Aleppo Governor Hussein Diab said that lighting a Christmas tree is a message of friendship and peace from Aleppo to the whole world, a message of joy, sacrifices and new birth.
