Armenia MP says sceptical about president’s plans for PM's post![]() December 22, 2017 - 10:30 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Lawmaker from the ruling Republican Party of Armenia Vahram Baghdasaryan has expressed the view that president Serzh Sargsyan won’t be seeking the prime minister’s post after his tenure ends in 2018. According to him, the RPA council and the executive body have yet to discuss the issue. The member of the National Assembly urged the media to be patient and follow the developments. Also, Baghdasaryan said the party does have several possible candidates besides Sargsyan. “If we did not consider Karen Karapetyan to be deserving, we wouldn’t trust him the prime minister’s post,” the lawmaker said, adding, however, that Karapetyan has been involved in the economic aspect of the country’s governance so far. “We’ll review everyone’s considerations and approaches and will focus on the issue in 2018." ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
