Armenia has to introduce changes in Karabakh process

PanARMENIAN.Net - Azerbaijan's efforts to transfer Karabakh discussions from OSCE to UN format and Azerbaijan's warlike statements force Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh to reconsider their approach to the conflict settlement and Karabakh's security, Armenian President Robert Kocharian said in Stepanakert yesterday.

Asked to comment on his recent statement on possible recognition of NKR independence, Mr Kocharian said, "We can conclude an agreement to neutralize the Azeri threat. As to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement process, Karabakh's status within Azerbaijan has never been subject of talks. The approach to the conflict settlement is recognition of Karabakhi people's right to self-determination," he said, Novosti Armenia reports.
