As a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter came to know from the UAR, a new feature film about the Armenian Genocide will be screened during the event. The Armenian Genocide of 1915-1923 is the first genocide of the 20th century. Some 1.5 million of Armenians were slaughtered in the ethnic cleansing organized by the Ittihad ve Terakki (Unity and Progress) party. Some 500 thousand fled and found shelter in various countries, thus forming the Armenian Diaspora, which numbers 5 millions now. ![]() ![]() Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert.
