Rally in commemoration of Pontian Greek Genocide held in Moscow

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Union of Armenians of Russia joined a rally in commemoration of the genocide perpetrated against Christian population of the Ottoman Empire. The action was organized by the Greek community in the center of Moscow on May 18, the UAR press office told PanARMENIAN.Net



Vice President of the Association of Greek NGOs in Russia Konstantin Atmachidi and representative of the Assyrian community, UAR Vice President Armen Mukunyan addressed the publics.



Condemning the Turkish government for its policy of denial, Mukunyan said, "Genocide is a crime which has no time limitation. Not condemned, genocide open a way for new crimes against humanity. Man states throughout the globe join the demand to recognize the Armenian Genocide and other genocides against Christians in Ottoman Turkey."



Following the extermination of Armenians, Young Turks slaughtered Greeks, Assyrians, Kurds and other nations during the period of 1915-1922.



May 19 is marked as Remembrance Day of 350,000 victims of the Pontian Greek Genocide.
