  Armenia, Georgia sign military cooperation program for 2019 February 21, 2019 - 15:59 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Defense Ministers of Armenia and Georgia David Tonoyan and Levan Izoria signed the military cooperation program for 2019 on Thursday, February 21, Tonoyan told a briefing following the meeting. He said issues related to bilateral relations, regional and international security, and defense cooperation between the two countries were discussed at the meeting with his Georgian counterpart. "Armenia and Georgia are of utmost importance for each other in the spheres of security, politics, economy, culture and numerous other fields. Yerevan and Tbilisi should continue to expand bilateral cooperation in those areas," Tonoyan was quoted as saying by Panorama.am. He also said he agrees with the head of the Georgian Ministry of Defense on the gradual expansion of cooperation in the field of defense and the involvement of new areas. According to Tonoyan, the cooperation program is full of defense activities in various areas: military education, military medicine, training for sergeants, human rights, fight against corruption. The last bilateral agreement on cooperation between the defense ministries of the two countries was signed between ex-Minister of Defense of Armenia Vigen Sargsyan and Izoria in 2016 in Tbilisi.
