French Embassy introduced biometric visa process in ArmeniaSeptember 18, 2008 - 20:11 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - To ensure security and combat illegal migration, the French Embassy in Yerevan will introduce a biometric visa process from October 6, 2008.All persons who appealed for visa will have to attend the Embassy and produce a digital photo. They will also be fingerprinted, Mr. Jackie Charotte, French Consul in Armenia, told reporters today. "This system has already been introduced in 20 French Embassies, including Georgia. It will be introduced in 50 more Embassies from 2009. Such system functions in the British, U.S. and Bulgarian Embassies," he said, adding that the new system will not cause extra inconveniences but will help struggling illegal migration.
