Azeri media distorted Armenian President's statementsSeptember 22, 2008 - 16:03 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Any referendum in Karabakh will show that Armenians want to live apart from Azerbaijan, Armenia's President said in an interview with BBC Azerbaijan.Serzh Sargsyan offered his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aiyev to make investments in Karabakh, if Baku is really interested in welfare and security of NKR population. However, Mr Sargsyan has never said that "thanks to such investments, Armenians of Karabakh can agree to live within Azerbaijan", as it's reported by the Azeri media. On the contrary, he emphasized that if Karabakh is returned to Azerbaijan, no Armenian will remain there in a short period of time. The RA leader's press office told PanARMENIAN.Net that the Azeri media distorted the President's words. "It's quite impossible. The Azeri media, as usual, torn out some phrases from the context and tried to pass the desirable for reality," the press office said.
