  Hovik Abrahamyan elected RA NA SpeakerSeptember 29, 2008 - 17:38 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Former head of the presidential administration Hovik Abrahamyan was elected Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly today. 110 out of 115 MPs voted for the candidate from the RPA.5 MPs voted in favor of Larisa Alarevdyan, Heritage party's nominee. Tigran Torosyan sent in his resignation on September 19 and announced that he stops his membership of the RPA. His resignation was accepted on September 26, after a second confirmation.   Top stories Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution. President of the Armenian parliament Alen Simonyan met with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova.
