U.S. Department of State: Turkey is OSCE MG member and can offer suggestions

PanARMENIAN.Net - Turkey's bid for mediation in the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement process is under consideration in the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Ambassador to Armenia told a news conference today.



"Being a member of the OSCE Minsk Group, Turkey is entitled to offer suggestions," Ms. Marie Yovanovitch said, adding that her country wants peace and stability in the Caucasus.



As to the meeting between the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan, she said the U.S. did not initiate the event. "The decision was taken by Presidents Sargsyan and Gul and we welcome their courage," Ambassador Yovanovitch said.
