EU: normal relations between Armenia and Turkey to promote development of entire regionOctober 27, 2008 - 15:19 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The European Union supports the activity of the OSCE Minsk Group for a peaceful resolution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict and will spare no effort to that end, EU Envoy for the South Caucasus, Peter Semneby said during the Black Sea security program regional workshop that opened in Yerevan today. "The black Sea region is important for the EU. Given the new geopolitical situation, the problems here may be resolved via dialog and establishment of peace," he said, adding that the Union will strengthen economic cooperation with the region. Mr. Semneby also welcomed the steps toward Turkish-Armenian reconciliation and said that normal relations between the two countries as well as opening of the border will promote development of the entire region.
