RA President: Karabakh talks activatedOctober 27, 2008 - 16:23 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The talks on the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement have activated, the Armenian President said."It's conditioned by two major factors. First, presidential elections are over both in Armenia and Azerbaijan. Second, the recent events in the region proved inadmissibility of resolution of conflicts by use of force," Serzh Sargsyan said. "Resolution of the conflict is possible if Azerbaijan recognizes the right of Nagorno Karabakh people to self-determination, if Karabakh has a land border with Armenia and if world powers and international organizations guarantee security of Karabakh people," he said. "Public discussions are useful and the interests of the Armenian nation should be the basis of them. We have sacrificed too much for resolution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict to dissemble gambling in the issue. We are resolving a historical problem," the RA President told the Armenian Public Television, the leader's press office reports.
