California Armenians call on Ara Sarafian to refrain from comments on Armenian Genocide

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Armenian community of Glendale, California, sent an open letter to Gomidas foundation chairman, historian Ara Sarafian.

The letter says,

"Please, do not make any comments regarding the Armenian Genocide in any Turkish media, to any Turkish journalist or to any Turkish official, unless they officially recognize the Armenian Genocide. This is how Harout Sassounian treats them, correctly and successfully! They are masters of putting words in one's mouth and distorting any statement.

We don't have to remind you, that the Turks still dream of an Armenia without Armenians... you must be kidding if you don't already know this."

Ara Sarafian is known for his numerous articles and statements calling for formation of an Armenian-Turkish commission of historians to study the 1915 events.

The massacre of 1.5 million of Armenians perpetrated by the Ottoman Empire during World War I is classified as Genocide in all historic records.
