Eastern Partnership opens new horizons for South Caucasus

PanARMENIAN.Net - A number of initiatives aimed to strengthen Europe's role in the new geopolitical space that emerged after the August 2008 hostilities in South Ossetia were approved in the tenure of France's presidency in the EU, the French Ambassador to Armenia said.



"Eastern Partnership, which opens new horizons for South Caucasus countries, is one of the EU's most important initiatives," Serge Smessov said. "Another major initiative is the Mediterranean Union offered by French President Nicolas Sarkozy."
