Armenian, Azeri leaders confirm willingness to continue Karabakh talksJanuary 28, 2009 - 19:29 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan met in Zurich today, the RA leader's press office told PanARMENIAN.Net The Sargsyan-Aliyev meeting began with participation of Armenian and Azerbaijani Foreign Ministers, Co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group and Special Representative of the OSCE CiO. Then the Presidents continued talks in private. "The Armenian side assessed the meetings in Zurich as constructive and positive. The Presidents instructed their Foreign Ministers to continue talks with collaboration of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs. An agreement on mediators' regular regional visit was achieved," says a statement issued by the President's press office. After the meeting, Armenian President departed for Davos to attend the World Economic Forum. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution. President of the Armenian parliament Alen Simonyan met with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova. Partner news |
