Azerbaijan is shelling Stepanakert again, Karabakh Ombudsman says

PanARMENIAN.Net - Azerbaijan just hit civilian objects in Stepanakert several times, Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Human Rights Defender Artak Beglaryan said Friday, October 9 morning.

"The authorities of that country are chronic terrorists, criminals, while the international community is chronically blind," Beglaryan said.

Beglaryan said there is no information on casualties.

The Azerbaijani army has been shelling and firing rockets on Stepanakert and other settlements in Karabakh since the first moments of the offensive. 20 people were killed and 93 others wounded in the Azerbaijani fire between September 27 and October 7.

Azerbaijan, with help from Turkey, launched a large-scale offensive against Karabakh (Artsakh) in the morning of September 27, shelling Armenian positions and civilian settlements with large caliber weapons and rocket systems. Armenia and Karabakh have introduced martial law and total mobilization. The Armenian side has reported deaths and injuries both among the civilian population and the military. International and local journalists too have been injured in Azeri shelling of towns and villages.

Donations can be made to Hayastan All-Armenian Fund, which has launched a fundraising campaign to support Karabakh amid Azerbaijan's aggression.
