Samvel Karapetyan donating $3m to support Armenia and Karabakh![]() October 12, 2020 - 21:54 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Renowned Russian businessman of Armenian descent Samvel Karapetyan has allocated $3 million to help Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) in the process of recovering from the Azerbaijani-Turkish aggression. Along with continuous humanitarian gestures, Karapetyan’s Tashir Charity Foundation has donated the money for ensuring the development of Armenia and Artsakh. “We have been, are and will always be assisting the Armenian nation, especially in trying times like these. I believe that eventually we will succeed in securing prosperity and peace on Armenian soil,” said Karapetyan. Azerbaijan, with help from Turkey, launched a large-scale offensive against Karabakh (Artsakh) in the morning of September 27, shelling Armenian positions and civilian settlements with large caliber weapons and rocket systems. Armenia and Karabakh have introduced martial law and total mobilization. The Armenian side has reported deaths and injuries both among the civilian population and the military. International and local journalists too have been injured in Azeri shelling of towns and villages, as well as the iconic Ghazanchetsots Cathedral in Shushi. Before a humanitarian ceasefire could begin on October 10, Azerbaijan launched a new offensive and struck settlements both in Karabakh and Armenia.
