Karabakh: Azerbaijan resumes offensive actions in several directionsOctober 13, 2020 - 10:33 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Azerbaijan has resumed military operations accompanied by artillery fire in the southern, northern, north-eastern and eastern directions of the contact line, the Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Army reported Tuesday, October 13 morning. The situation in the conflict zone remained relatively stable but tense overnight. "The subdivisions of the Defense Army are keeping the operational and tactical situation under their control by undertaking actions in all directions to stop the fire and thwart the plans of the adversary," the Defense Army said. Azerbaijan, with help from Turkey and mercenaries deployed by Ankara, launched a large-scale offensive against Karabakh (Artsakh) in the morning of September 27, shelling Armenian positions and civilian settlements with large caliber weapons and rocket systems. Armenia and Karabakh have introduced martial law and total mobilization. The Armenian side has reported deaths and injuries both among the civilian population and the military. International and local journalists too have been injured in Azeri shelling of towns and villages, as well as the iconic Ghazanchetsots Cathedral in Shushi.
