First teen dies due to Covid-19 in Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Health Authorities reported on Wednesday, October 21 that a 16-year-old girl has died due to Covid-19. This is the country's first death of a child.

After a partial removal of a malignant neoplasm (astrocytoma) of the brain, the girl was in a vegetative state (could not speak, could not walk, could not sit, could not communicate). Covid-19 then further aggravated her condition.

Doctors took all necessary measures, but the child's life could not be saved, Health Ministry spokeswoman Alina Nikoghosyan said.

Azerbaijan, with help from Turkey and Syrian and Libyan mercenaries deployed by Ankara, started a war against Karabakh (Artsakh) in the morning of September 27. The Armenian side has reported deaths and injuries both among the civilian population and the military. Foreign and local journalists too have been injured in Azeri shelling of towns and villages.

Donations can be made to Hayastan All-Armenian Fund, which has launched a fundraising campaign to support humanitarian efforts in Karabakh.
