Battles of local significance taking place on Karabakh front

PanARMENIAN.Net - Battles of local significance are taking place in all directions of the frontline, the Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Army said on Saturday, October 24 morning.

The Armenian troops are successfully thwarting the offensive operations of the adversary and are in control of the tactical situation, the Karabakh army added.

The situation in the conflict zone was relatively stable, but tense, with artillery battles and exchange of fire reported in certain sections.

Prior to that, the Azerbaijani forces again violated the norms of international humanitarian law on Friday evening and heavily bombarded peaceful settlements, including the capital Stepanakert.

Azerbaijan, with help from Turkey and Syrian and Libyan mercenaries deployed by Ankara, started a war against Karabakh (Artsakh) in the morning of September 27. The Armenian side has reported deaths and injuries both among the civilian population and the military. Foreign and local journalists too have been injured in Azeri shelling of towns and villages.
