Armenia rejects Azeri claims of firing on Karabakh-held territories as absurd

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia has not opened artillery or rocket fire towards Azerbaijan, and reports of shelling the Lachin and Kubatlu regions from Goris and Kapan are false too, Armenian Defense Ministry spokeswoman Shushan Stepanyan told PanARMENIAN.Net on Saturday, October 24

"Armenia has never opened fire, and is not firing now too. Meanwhile the statement that Armenia is shelling territories controlled by the Artsakh Defense Army (Lachin and Kubatlu - Ed.) is absurd," Stepanyan added.

The spokesperson also denied that an Armenian military plane has been downed.

Azerbaijan, with help from Turkey and Syrian and Libyan mercenaries deployed by Ankara, started a war against Karabakh (Artsakh) in the morning of September 27. The Armenian side has reported deaths and injuries both among the civilian population and the military. Foreign and local journalists too have been injured in Azeri shelling of towns and villages.
