Armenia PM to supporters: I promise to not betray the nation![]() November 18, 2020 - 21:26 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Supporters of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan gathered in front of the government building in Yerevan for a rally on Wednesday, November 18. Pashinyan himself, however, asked the protesters to disperse since public gatherings are prohibited under the martial law. The PM delivered a short speech promising to not betray the people and, if necessary, invite them to the Republic Square for a rally. "I know there are tens of thousands of people in Armenia who will come to the square if necessary. I want to thank you. I bow before the guys who have returned from the front, I bow before all our victims and their parents. I promise I will not betray the people, I promise I will invite you all to the square if need be." At Freedom Square, meanwhile, 16 opposition parties and their supporters are rallying to demand Pashinyan's resignation. Pashinyan, Russian and Azerbaijani Presidents Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev have signed a statement to end the war in Karabakh after almost 45 days. Karabakh (Artsakh) President Arayik Harutyunyan has said he has agreed to the deal signed by Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan. ![]() ![]() As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed.
