French Senate to consider resolution recognizing Karabakh

PanARMENIAN.Net - The French Senate will consider a resolution proposing France's recognition of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh)

The resolution has been drafted by Senators Bruno Retailleau, Patrick Kanner, Hervé Marseille , Éliane Assassi and Guillaume Gontard, and signed by the heads of the five leading factions.

"Only its (Karabakh's - Ed) independence can guarantee the rights and freedoms of the populations of Nagorno-Karabakh in the face of Turkish Islamist expansionism," Retailleau said in a tweet.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Russian and Azerbaijani Presidents Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev have signed a statement to end the war in Karabakh after almost 45 days. Karabakh (Artsakh) President Arayik Harutyunyan has said he has agreed to the deal signed by Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan.
