Pashinyan says unblocking of transport links a turning point for region![]() November 25, 2020 - 11:00 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The agreement to unblock transport communications, which is envisioned under a joint statement by the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia, may change not just the economic situation, but the whole logic of economic development in the region, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said in an interview with TASS. “This is a very important point. And I think that we should focus on this in the near future, because when we talk about economic stabilization not only in Armenia, but throughout the region, we must take concrete steps." The Prime Minister stressed that he expects to implement this provision. "I hope that we will be able to implement the political agreements that are specified in the joint statement. In particular, I mean the unblocking of the economic infrastructure, the railways and so on," he explained. Pashinyan, together with Russian and Azerbaijani Presidents Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev, on November 9 signed a statement to end the war in Karabakh after almost 45 days. Under the deal, the Armenian side is returning all the seven regions surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh, having lost a part of Karabakh itself in hostilities. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
