Aronian sustains first defeat at Linares 2009

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian has sustained his first defeat at Linares 2009 in a game with Russia's Alexander Grischuk, who tops the tournament chart with 4.5 points.



With 3.5 points, Aronian shares the second and third positions with Norway's Magnus Carlsen, who inflicted a defeat on world champion Viswanathan Anand.



The other games of the 6th tour ended in a draw.



In the resulting 7th tour, Aronian will play against Ukraine's Vassily Ivanchuk.
